This super bulky hat is wonderfully squishy, worked in a unique cable that creates a stretchy 4X1 rib. A tubular cast on is used for maximum stretch allowing this hat to be worn by a wider range of head sizes. If you prefer to use a different cast on method, cast on with larger sized needles and replace first 2 rounds of double knitting with regular 1×1 rib. Pattern is written in one size. (see below) All repeats appear in bold text throughout pattern. The pattern is charted and also includes separate written instructions.
