I got my start with crochet. My late mother-in-law, Charlotte, was kind enough to show me the basics of crochet, and I took off from there. I began with the basics she showed me and combined that with what I could find on YouTube to launch myself into the design space. Before I knew it, I had published my first pattern on Etsy.
About Me
Creator, Designer, Chief Inspiration Officer
I am a self-taught pattern designer, teacher, artist and jewelry designer but I am first and foremost a mother of 3. I started this journey in 2007 when my children were young to keep myself sane.
My story begins
The loving patience of my Mother-in-Law started this journey.
Growth
The power of a glass of wine
Before long I started to covet the design elements found in knitting, but I had absolutely no knitting experience. So with the help of a friend, a bottle of wine, and the knowledge base of YouTube I started down the path of knitting. I now have a combined total of 200 + knit and crochet designs on Ravelry, KnitPicks, Etsy, and other fiber sites.
Expanded horizions
What once was old is new again
I have recently gone back to an earlier hobby, jewelry making. This time I am tying it back to the Fiber Arts by making progress keepers and stitch markers. These are available in small batches, so sign up for my newsletter to keep informed of when new batches are released. You can also follow me on Instagram and Facebook.
While I am adding more patterns to my site, please be sure to check Ravelry, KnitPicks or Etsy for a larger selection.
Best,
Kalurah
