This particular design has been floating around in my head since the very end of winter. I knew that I wanted a hat and cowl set but something that was still lightweight enough to wear well into the warmer months.

My good friend Julie sent me a DELICIOUS yarn to play with, called Fino. And after some trial and error, I finally found the perfect stitch and just the right gauge to make the fiber sing!

And can I just say………this colorway is To. Die. For. Lilacs, mauves, a tiny hint of mushroom, a little speck of plum and just a glimmer of grape. OH MY! I do believe I’ve fallen in love with yet ANOTHER colorway and fiber from the talented Julie Asselin!

As for the fiber…CASHMERE. I’m sorry, did you just faint? Yes, I said cashmere! And silk. And Merino. And…..what else even matters? Fino knits up into a lush, buttery soft dream. And between that and the irresistible colorway, just… yes. Oh YES!!!

The best part about this pattern (aside from the spectacular yarn and colorway) is the fact that this whole set only uses ONE hank! Less than 400 yards. Yay!!! The hat is nice and loose fitting, stretchy and can accommodate any sized head. Perfection. And the cowl is loose enough to fit any size as well, with just the right amount of drape. See??? Perfection.

Now, obviously I don’t want to be greedy and keep all this LOVE to myself. I HAVE to share it! So I’ll be giving away a hank of Julie’s gorgeous Fino (colorway: Shiitake) and a printed pattern to one lovely knitter.
