Fringe Benefits

By December 21, 2014 No Comments

Adding fringe to a simple scarf can add extra length and a pretty finishing touch. And it’s EASY! For this tutorial, I’m using Lion Brand Fettuccini but ANY t-shirt yarn will do. Here we go!

9

Begin by trimming all of your Fringe to the same length. I wanted Fringe that was roughly 5-6″ long, so I trimmed my pieces to 12″.

1

Next, fold your piece in half.

2

Insert a large Crochet Hook (mine is 10mm) from front to back through the edge of your scarf.

3

Hook your fringe piece at the folded part.

4

Pull up this loop.

5

Now, bring the two halves of your strand up and over your hook.

6

And pull them through the loop that was on your hook.

7

Finish by pulling the strands all the way through that loop until you have it essentially slip-knotted onto the edge of the scarf. Pull tightly to secure.

8

Repeat this process along both edges of your scarf.

And we’re done! If you’d like the pattern featured in this tutorial, it is available for free here.  🙂
