Let it Snow

The weather outside is frightful. So knit yourself one of these adorable cabled hats to stay nice and warm.

I wrote this pattern up in a beautiful, soft, scrumptious wool/nylon yarn from Knit Picks. I’ve worked with Knit Picks for several years now and am in LOVE with all of their yarns. This one is no exception. Biggo is an extra bulky weight yarn that is perfect for quick knits and is washable, soft and has a lightweight ply which lends well to a thick hat made of cables and garter.

The hat is finished off with a cute little pom-pom. I’ve linked to the tutorial on my Blog. But you can just as easily buy one or use an actual pom-pom maker if you have one. It takes just over 100 yards with about 10 yards for the Pom-Pom. The pattern is super easy with a very basic cable. This would be a perfect first project for someone wanting to learn cables.

I’m listing this design with an “open” license so feel free to make lots as gifts as well as for selling in your local craft fairs or online. Enjoy the pattern and share with friends!
